A Walk with God

A WALK WITH GOD
This walk was intentional, not my usual happy place with the Lord but a new place.
A large forest, tall and majestic; it reminds me of the awesomeness of God.
The trees are tall, their branches reach far and wide, almost like they’re worshipping and calling out to Heaven. Heaven answers as the sun glistens through the openings in the canopy, bringing warmth and life to the flora on the ground below.
The wild flowers delight the eye of anyone who enters; a feast of sensations awaits the passerby.
The aroma of flora wafting on the cool breeze can be detected before entering under this vast canopy.
The strong tree trunks wrap around you like a hug from above, strong and sturdy like our Father’s arms.
Some trees have bare branches, bare for a season; leaves spring forth at their allotted time.
Other branches are laden with leaves and fruit in its season.
The bark on the trees has many colours, weathered and shaped by the seasons, and tree trunks are rooted in firm foundations, drawing water from a never ending source, sustained even in times of drought.
The forest’s large canopy provides shelter from the heat of the sun, letting through just the right amount to sustain abundant life below.
The forest lavishes its gifts on you freely, and asks for your heart and respect in return. It asks you to value the life within and treat it with care.
A path meanders through the heart of the majestic landscape for all to find, a path that beckons and says, ‘Follow Me’. The richness of the beauty is intoxicating; you will find unconditional love, truth and mercy on the journey home.
Through misty eyes we can begin to understand ourselves, and He who accompanies us on the journey will reveal giftings in the appointed seasons.
Stand back, look, there are many routes through the forest to take but only one lit bright by the Holy Spirit’s guiding light.
Do not be afraid of the size of the journey ahead. I have got you, my Spirit will guide you on the path of life ahead.
Do not turn to the left or the right; there are many distractions. Remain in me, stay focused and let us enter into the adventure that awaits in the forest together.
