Psalm 81 A Psalm of Asaph A call to worship! With joyful singing and shouting, and with the tenderness of the lyre and harp. A call to engage with the rhythm of God’s appointed Feasts: the New Moon, the Festivals. A reminder of when God listened to them and delivered them (v7), but now they […]
Kaleb Franckeiss, Prayer for Israel Magazine July 2026 Recently, I have found myself returning to the book of Daniel because it reminds us that the Lord rules over kings and kingdoms. As a bonus Daniel also shows us how to pray when the world is chaotic, when God’s people are under pressure, and when the […]
Daniel 3:1-7 Nebuchadnezzar builds a gold statue and threatens the fiery furnace for those who will not bow before it. Keith: King Nebuchadnezzar’s decision to construct a massive golden statue, despite Daniel’s interpretation of his dream foretelling the eventual decline of his empire, reveals a profound irony and folly. The king, who had just been […]
Daniel 2:46-49 Nebuchadnezzar promotes Daniel after his dream is interpreted Ian: Ps 75:6-7 – For promotion and power come from nowhere on earth, but only from God. He promotes one and deposes another. Who would have thought that young Daniel, a captive, a Jew and an outsider, would have been promoted to Chief Magus by […]
Daniel 2:31-45 Daniel tells Nebuchadnezzar what he dreamt and gives the interpretation Nick: I saw the Rock (Jesus) as where our focus needs to be. Daniel 2:24-30 Daniel tells the King that God has told him what the dream was. Megan: No matter the situation you face or who appears to be in control, God always has the ultimate control. I love how Daniel acknowledges that it is not by his own wisdom or knowledge that the dream will be […]
Daniel 2:17-23 Daniel entreats God for Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream and its meaning Julian (11): Every time I read this chapter I am stunned by Daniel’s incredible faith. He doesn’t fear what he is about to do but he prays about it. He doesn’t panic even if death is imminent! He puts his trust in the […]
Daniel 2:10-16 Daniel asks for time to interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s Dreams Keith: Neb’s anger about his dream was merely the bodyguard of his fear and ignorance. Daniel 2:10-16 invites a jaw-drop moment: a king’s dream-destruction becomes a public display of his true powerlessness. It was a small step for Daniel but a giant step for prophet […]
Daniel 2:1-9 Nebuchadnezzars dreams Megan: I was drawn to ask myself this: How easily do I turn to others (Christians) for wisdom, answers or interpretation rather than seeking it diligently from the Lord? Nick: Forgive me for going on a bit of a tangent with this, but the dreams have always interested me. If anyone […]
