What is God like?

What is your image of God? What do you think He is like?

Is He far above sitting on a cloud, judging everything we do and say? Is He disappointed in us?

Psalm 145:8 gives us an idea of His nature. “The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.” This is beautifully expressed in The Passion Translation. “You’re kind and tender-hearted to those who don’t deserve it and very patient with people who fail you. Your love is like a flooding river overflowing its banks with kindness.”

How wonderful and encouraging! No matter how many mistakes we make, no matter how far from God we wander, no matter how undeserving we are, He doesn’t give up on us. God’s love is unconditional, never ending, overflowing with forgiveness and blessings, and is most clearly demonstrated through Jesus. God brings heaven down, rescues us from hell, and calls us into His eternal kingdom as His precious children and even His friends. ‭‭

What could be more amazing or better than that!
