Time

Time passes… Time always passes. Time doesn’t stand still, doesn’t wait for us to be less busy or for us to be better prepared for what is about to come. It’s one of the things we can’t stop, can’t control, no matter how much we try. It just… passes.

And every new tick joins a tock, becoming a minute, an hour, a day, a month, a year, a decade – all made up of those little tick tocks we can so easily take for granted.

As we get older the importance of some things tends to shift, and activities that we felt the need to rush towards before, now can wait a tad longer. Our recollection of memories gone by also seem to change, and how they really happened may not be exactly as we remember them.

Sometimes I’ve used my time well, and others I haven’t. Some I remember vividly while others are somewhat vague. Some ticks I regret and some tocks I wish had never moved on.

What I’m sure of is that I want to keep learning not to take for granted any speck of time I have, even if it’s just drinking chai with a close friend while watching the mighty Himalayas, letting time tick tock away while memories like this are etched in my heart, my mind, my soul.
