An Instrument for God

I was thinking today of my friend Robyn and her dyslexia and it occurred to me we all have our problems and deficiencies. I thought of that very famous violinist Itzhak Perlman who went to play in Israel. There was much hype and great expectation for the concert. At last he stood on the stage about to play. A string broke loudly on his violin – followed immediate by another. The audience began to giggle. Then a third string broke before he started to play.

But with the one string left the violinist played sublimely and it lifted the whole audience to another sphere.

We are really just one string instruments – all of us – how ever talented or ungifted we are. But the Creator can make sublime music if we are in His hands.
