God’s Workmanship

Somebody asked me what “they” can do to make a difference in our country at the moment. My mind always goes to that verse in Ephesians, “We are God’s workmanship” (Eph 2:10).

The Greek word for “workmanship” is “poema”(POEM) – through what we do as Christian people, God is writing to the world. And we should be doing “the good works that (He) has prepared before hand” for us to do (Ephesians 2 again).

We are often so frightened of “good works”; we often forget that is what we were created for. Of course, we can’t win God’s friendship by “good works” – we become God’s children (part of his family) absolutely and entirely by GRACE. But once in his family, our lives should flower into lives that show the world what the Kingdom of God is like.

Our prayer should be, “Make my life a beautiful POEM that shows exactly what God and his Kingdom is like.”
